CenterPoint Properties has hired veteran industry executive Jonathan Guffey as a vice president of leasing in its east region.
The national real estate firm said Guffey, who is based in Fort Lauderdale, will focus on its portfolio in the highly competitive Southeast submarkets. He is a former vice president of leasing with Prologis, where he led a team overseeing asset management, construction and leasing activities for some 12 million square feet of South Florida industrial space.
His experience also includes roles at Workspace Property Trust, Liberty Property Trust, JLL and Penn-Florida Cos.
“Over the last 16 years, Jonathan has built a rock-solid reputation for forging strong relationships with the brokerage community and industrial users along the East Coast,” said David Nenner, CenterPoint’s senior vice president of asset management in the east region. “That’s been our calling card for decades, establishing long-lasting partnerships. Jonathan will help us continue to deliver the high level of service and trust our customers have come to seek out and expect from CenterPoint.”
Guffey holds a bachelor’s in real estate and finance from Florida State University, where he played catcher on the Seminole baseball team.
“Thanks to David and the entire leadership team for their trust in me,” Guffey said. “This is an exciting time to help CenterPoint put its high-quality portfolio to work for industrial users, especially in the tight markets it operates in from New York to Miami and top port markets in between.”
CenterPoint’s east region markets include New York and New Jersey, Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia, Charleston and Greenville in South Carolina, Savannah and Atlanta in Georgia and South Florida, according to a news release. Nenner’s team manages and leases 98 assets and more than 21 million square feet of industrial space in those markets, part of a firm-wide portfolio that includes nearly 63 million feet of owned and managed space across 309 properties.
