Longtime developer Paul Silverman will receive a top honor this fall in recognition of his firm’s dedication to the arts, public art and the inclusion of artists’ work in its projects.
Silverman, who co-founded the Jersey City-based company alongside his brother Eric, will take the stage on Nov. 6 as part of a conference hosted by the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation and Hudson County Community College. The program will include a luncheon where the organizations will highlight his advocacy for the local arts scene, his inclusion of rotating art exhibitions in the lobbies of his properties and the firm’s semiannual art shows to showcase emerging talent.
NNJCF and HCCC also noted that Paul and Eric Silverman co-founded Elevator, a dynamic creative space offering studios for artists and makers of all disciplines, within the Hamilton Park neighborhood in Jersey City that the brothers helped pioneer. Additionally, Paul Silverman is a trustee emeritus at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, chairman of the Youth Foundation of Jersey City and an active volunteer with City Sail, while he supports several organizations, including New City Kids, Art House Productions, Team Wilderness and other nonprofits throughout Jersey City and Hudson County.
The inaugural New Jersey Creative Communities Conference 2025: The Art of Community Well-Being is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Hudson County Community College Culinary Center at 161 Sip Ave. in Jersey City. Those on hand will include a host of leading figures in municipal government, arts and business leaders as well as health care and wellness workers, grant makers, students others, who will explore innovative ways to make communities better for everyone through art and creative placemaking.
