An importer of cured meats has relocated to New Jersey from Brooklyn, having signed a lease at a newly renovated co-working center in Hoboken.
JDA Group, the developer and owner of what’s known as Mission 50, said Levoni America Corp. has moved into a two-room private suite on the building’s second floor. The space at 50 Harrison St. will serve as the new base of U.S. operations for a company that has been in business for more than a century and deals in 300 types of meats.
Levoni will use the location for both office space and food prep and storage.
“We moved to a co-working space in Brooklyn in 2020 and quickly began to outgrow it,” said Alberto Morandi, general manager of Levoni America. “Prices in New York are prohibitive if you want to scale your company, so we made a decision to relocate to a more enterprise-friendly state.”
JDA said the location will also provide a convenient site for a company that often brings in product from a warehouse in Sayreville and transport samples, equipment and marketing materials to customers and food shows.
“Mission 50 is built for companies like Levoni — entrepreneurial in nature, seeking workspaces that accommodate growth and looking for a collaborative community-centric vibe,” said Greg Dell’Aquila, CEO of JDA Group.
The building owner recently unveiled a major renovation at the 80,000-square-foot property, seeking to offer flexible options such as co-working spaces, privacy pods, private office suites and traditional, fully customizable offices, according to a news release. Mission 50 offers a host of amenities and membership options for users ranging from solo entrepreneurs to businesses with more than 100 employees.
For Levoni, the building provides built-in expansion space for its growing business.
