A regional Goodwill organization has signed a full-building, 125,500-square-foot lease at a South Hackensack industrial property, where it now plans to open a new outlet location.
Brokers with Cushman & Wakefield on Tuesday detailed the commitment by Goodwill Industries of Greater NY and Northern NJ Inc., which is leasing the space at 400 Huyler St. Developed by Forsgate Industrial Partners, the newly built property will house a large Goodwill Outlet store and support the nonprofit’s ecommerce growth.
C&W’s Charles Fern, Thomas D. Tucci, Jason Barton, Stephen Shoemaker, Thomas E. Tucci and Elizabeth Rouse represented Goodwill NYNJ.
“This highly respected nonprofit, which has been serving our regional community for more than 100 years, needed a special building — one close to New York, offering highway visibility and providing a mix of warehouse and office space with the ability to accommodate an outlet store,” Fern said. “400 Huyler Street checked every box for Goodwill NYNJ, including 40-foot clear ceilings and 12,000 square feet of mezzanine offices — as well as an established, responsive landlord.”
Sitting on six acres, the single-story warehouse offers a location along Interstate 80 and minutes from other major highways. C&W said the location will sell goods by the pound and, as the organization’s main northern New Jersey operations facility, will operate Goodwill’s ecommerce division and sort goods for recycling.
