Dermody Properties has provided $5,000 to The Food Bank of South Jersey as part of an annual giving program by the national industrial developer.
According to the firm, the food bank is one of eight organizations that will benefit from this year’s Thanksgiving Capstone Award. The funds will support the Pennsauken-based nonprofit’s mission of providing food to people in need, teaching them to eat nutritiously and helping them find sustainable ways to improve their lives.
Dermody added that the food bank, a member of Feeding America, last year distributed nearly 18 million pounds of food, which is equivalent to about 15 million meals shared with the South Jersey community.
“The Thanksgiving Capstone Award allows our company to contribute to organizations that are making a positive impact in the communities we are part of,” said Timothy Walsh, partner and chief investment officer for Dermody Properties. “We are honored to provide this gift to the Food Bank of New Jersey, knowing the organization works diligently to serve southern New Jersey and plays a pivotal part in supporting those facing hunger.”
The Dermody Properties Annual Thanksgiving Capstone Award is directed each year by the executive management committee of Dermody Properties, which includes Chairman and CEO Michael Dermody, President Douglas A. Kiersey Jr., Partner and Chief Capital Officer Kathleen Briscoe, Partner and Chief Strategy Officer Amy Curry, Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Kauchak, Chief Financial Officer Douglas Lanning and Walsh.
