A developer has unveiled a collection of more than 150 apartments in Union Township, marking the completion of its first project in northern New Jersey.
RMS Cos., which is based in Stamford, Connecticut, is touting a focus on wellness and convenience as it launches preleasing for its Canter Green building at 1255 Magie Ave. The 153-unit property is now coming online with amenities including an in-ground pool, a cardio and core strengthening fitness center, a private on-demand yoga and spin studio and resident lounges, among others.
“Canter Green is about self-care and being able to do it at home,” said Randy Salvatore, the firm’s CEO and president. “Our common spaces were designed from a healthy-living standpoint to give residents access to the fitness amenities they want as well as a calm space to escape from outside stress or recover after a workout.”
RMS, which will offer in-person tours, took control of the six-acre site in 2019. The project marks its entrance to the Garden State after more than 20 years of developing residential and hotel properties in Connecticut, helping to redevelop a long-vacant salt factory property near the Roselle Park border.
The mix of one- and two-bedroom units will have other amenities including a meditation room with a Himalayan salt wall, a children’s playroom, a multisport golf simulator and a pet space.
“We understand the busy lives our residents live, and that they need to be able to make the most of their free time,” Salvatore said. “We’ve created spaces that they can use to focus on their overall wellness on their schedule. Canter Green sets the standard for Union Township by catering to our residents’ needs.”
