A new 256-unit luxury rental complex has hit the market in Hillsdale, following a project that transformed a longtime industrial site just minutes from the borough’s downtown.
Known as The Piermont, the development at 145 Patterson St. includes a mix of apartments and townhomes with a long list of indoor and outdoor amenities. Leasing is now underway at the project by BNE Real Estate Group, Claremont Development and March Development, with monthly rents starting from the $2700s and initial occupancy slated for April.
The complex is roughly a half-mile from NJ Transit’s Hillsdale station and some 18 miles from Manhattan.

“We’re excited to introduce The Piermont and bring a new level of modern rental living to Hillsdale,” said Jonathan Schwartz, a partner at BNE. “From the bright, spacious apartments and townhomes to the thoughtfully designed amenities and convenient location, every detail of The Piermont was carefully considered to create an exceptional living experience in one of Bergen County’s most charming communities.”
Designed by Studio Hillier Architects, with interiors by Mary Cook Associates, The Piermont rises four stories and has what the developers described as a dynamic blend of materials, textures, shapes and colors, including multiple types of brick and architectural elements such as balconies and dormers. Renters can choose from a mix of upscale studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and larger townhomes, with premium options that include additional dens, private outdoor space and private entrances.
Amenities include multiple social lounges, a modern fitness center, a coworking lounge with private offices, a smart vending and coffee bar area and a private tasting room, among others, according to a news release. Outdoors, residents have access to a resort-style swimming pool with private cabanas, a bar and a gaming and TV screening area, plus firepits and grills with private dining spaces.

“We believe in building communities that strengthen neighborhoods while bringing much-needed housing to local markets,” said Richard Sciaretta, managing partner of Claremont Development. “That’s exactly what we’ve accomplished at The Piermont. Our residents will enjoy maintenance-free living at its most refined, with brand-new homes and a wide array of amenities and services at their fingertips.”
The property, which occupies what was the site of a Waste Management facility, has 24-hour on-site maintenance, a private parking garage, a dedicated package room and a pet spa. The developers also pointed to a neighboring public park and community center, which offer additional recreation options.
Commuters boarding at the Hillsdale train station have easy access to Manhattan and Hoboken. Renters are also within walking distance of the borough’s downtown, which has a mix of shops and restaurants, plus historical and architectural landmarks and Memorial Park, a village green with benches, picnic tables, a gazebo and landscaped gardens.
