A developer is eyeing a fall groundbreaking for an additional 266 apartments in Union Township, following the lease-up of a 130-unit first phase that opened last year.
Diversified Properties LLC announced last week that its affiliate, DP Property Management LLC, has completed lease-up at what’s known as Summit Court. Located at 1776 Patriot Way, the three-story complex has drawn renters thanks in part to its proximity to NJ Transit rail service and Kean University, along with high-end apartments and amenities.
The firm has now launched site preparations for phase two, which will be four stories with 266 apartments and a community clubhouse, according to a news release. The clubhouse will encompass a pool and pergola plus activity areas, work-at-home space, game room, shuffleboard court, outdoor grills and fire pit and a private dining room.
Construction is expected to begin this fall.
“Demand for luxury rentals in New Jersey is strong, particularly in areas with good access to Manhattan,” said Nicholas Minoia, a principal of Diversified Properties and DP Property Management. “We are looking forward to bringing more luxury apartments and additional amenities online to meet that demand with Phase 2 of Summit Court.”
Summit Court’s existing stock includes one- and two-bedroom apartments, while the community offers jitney service to the train station, the news release said. Amenities include two fitness studios with Peloton bikes, weight training and cardio workout equipment and virtual fitness programs, along with a community lounge with a catering kitchen and game and lounging areas.
