Walters is welcoming residents to its latest project in New Jersey, a new 72-unit affordable rental community in Burlington County’s Hainesport Township.
In a news release, the developer said move-ins are underway at the property on Creek Road, with full completion slated for spring 2026. That will bring an infusion of housing to the township for individuals and families who do not make more than 60 percent of the area median income, in a location that provides access to Philadelphia and other South Jersey employment hubs via Route 38, Route 541 and Interstate 295.
Cornerstone at Hainesport, which will have upscale one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans, will also have amenities such as a modern fitness center, a playground, a basketball court and a community clubhouse with computer workstations, according to a news release. Walters, meantime, has designed the six-building complex to attain certification under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale and the Energy Star program.
“We’re building a community that balances affordability and sustainability with quality of life, creating a place where families can enjoy a safe environment with numerous amenities and support services,” said Joseph Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters.
The firm added that Hainesport, which sits near the Mount Laurel border, is known for its small-town charm with local events, seasonal festivals and active civic organizations. Residents also have easy access to shopping, dining and health care, while the developer will provide a staffed social service coordinator upon request.
