A global health care company has taken the wraps off its new U.S. headquarters in Secaucus after a project designed and spearheaded by Ware Malcomb.
According to the design firm, Pierre Fabre Laboratories U.S. occupies 18,934 square feet at 500 Plaza Drive in a space meant to promote collaboration and showcase core values such as a deep respect for the environment and a commitment to sustainable innovation. Those goals are evident in features such as a mix of open offices and huddle rooms and a large communal panty, Ware Malcomb said, all of which are elevated by architectural highlights such as biophilic green walls, transitional glass and large-format fabric pendant lighting.
The new site also emphasizes hands-on learning for Pierre Fabre’s teams and partners by incorporating immersive on-site skin and hair stations, supporting an office that’s home to the company’s dermo-cosmetics and medical care subsidiaries.

“Our team worked closely with the client over several years leading up to the design and construction of their new U.S. headquarters,” said Chelsea Chamra, a Ware Malcomb studio manager for interior architecture and design. “Together we developed and delivered a thoughtfully curated environment engineered to spark creativity and foster teamwork across all their departments.”
Pierre Fabre is a global health care company that was founded in France and is now the world’s second-largest dermo-cosmetics manufacturer, as well as a global player in oncology, cell and gene therapy, rare disease and dermatology, according to a news release. The company chose the Secaucus address, part of the landmark Harmon Meadow campus, for its strategic location and easy access to New York City and the broader tristate area.
Unity Construction Services Inc. was the general contractor for the buildout, which used sustainable materials such as low-embodied carbon and carbon-neutral flooring, natural wood veneer, bio-based and linoleum flooring and low-VOC wall finishes.
