The Hampshire Cos. has rented more than 50 percent of its new 270-unit luxury apartment building in downtown Hackensack, following the launch of leasing earlier this year.
Known as Ora, the property at the corner of Main and Berry streets includes a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes and amenities such as a seventh-story rooftop club room. That has sparked strong interest in only about three months, while Hampshire also pointed to the continued demand for high-end housing in the Bergen County seat.
The Morristown-based firm unveiled the building late last year alongside project partners Russo Development and Riverbank Management LLC, with The Marketing Directors serving as Ora’s exclusive marketing and leasing agents.
“Hackensack’s emergence as a premier residential destination has been fueled by a strong regional employer base, a growing array of shopping, dining and entertainment options and exceptional accessibility to northern New Jersey and New York City,” said James E. Hanson II, Hampshire’s CEO and president. “Ora’s early leasing success underscores the city’s rising appeal, and we look forward to building on this momentum as we continue toward full occupancy.”
With monthly rents starting from the $2,100s, the building’s amenities also include a first-floor courtyard with grills and dining areas, a modern fitness center, coworking spaces, private conference rooms and a pet spa. The rooftop clubroom, meantime, has a bar with billiards that opens to a sprawling outdoor terrace with fire pits, lounge seating and sweeping views of the New York City skyline.
Additional perks include concierge services, package lockers and on-site garage parking with electric vehicle charging stations, according to a news release. Hampshire also incorporated nearly 9,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, which offers residents additional shopping and dining experiences.
