Inspired by Somerset Development has kicked off sales for more than 100 new condominiums in Asbury Park, adding to the pipeline of luxury for-sale housing along the city’s iconic shoreline.
The Holmdel-based firm said LIDO Asbury Park, located at 1201 Ocean Ave., will have floorplans ranging from 970 to more than 3,800 square feet. The homes will complement some 50,000 square feet of resort-style amenity spaces, while residents will be steps from the boardwalk, the beach and a commercial district known for its rich history, vibrant culture and legendary rock and roll roots.
Pricing for LIDO starts at $825,000, while select homes will be listed for more than $8 million. Inspired expects the first closings to take place in 2027, which will follow the firm’s late 2023 acquisition of the site from an affiliate of Star Holdings, in conjunction with Starfield Cos.,
“Asbury Park has emerged as one of the most sought-after seaside destinations on the East Coast, drawing well-heeled buyers with its bustling cultural scene, sophisticated coastal lifestyle and year-round appeal,” said Ralph Zucker, CEO and founder of Inspired by Somerset Development. “LIDO is raising the bar even higher as a singular offering that combines world-class design, unrivaled amenities and elevated shorefront living. This is an exceptionally rare opportunity, and we’ve already seen strong pre-sales momentum reflecting that.”
Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners designed the eight-story building, which is meant to draw from its waterfront surroundings, with interiors by Clodagh Design and landscape design by Melillo Bauer Carman, according to a news release. The collection’s 112 condos range from one- to four-bedroom units, with most offering private outdoor space and each boasting floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Atlantic Ocean, Asbury Park landmarks and the boardwalk.
Amenities, meantime, include a saltwater swimming pool with a sun shelf and infinity edge, private cabanas and loungers, an outdoor shower and a fully equipped outdoor dining space with a built-in kitchen, the news release said. There’s also a private park with grills, landscaped pathways and firepits, along with hot and cold plunge pools, a Turkish hammam and Vichy shower, a treatment room and both an indoor and outdoor sauna.
Additional features include modern cardio and strength-training equipment and a dedicated studio for yoga, personal training or quiet meditation, along with social spaces such as a library lounge with a fireplace, a parlor room and a year-round oceanfront activity lounge.
“In our approach to the design of LIDO, we were very clear that every detail should be thoughtfully designed to foster wellness and a deep connection to Asbury Park’s vibrant spirit — where architecture embraces the rhythm of the sea, and curated art installations reflect the creative energy of a community long defined by its artistic soul,” said Jose Achi, lead designer and senior director of design and development at Clodagh Design.
The development team also highlighted building elements including a sculptural bronze spiral staircase in the double-height south lobby, along with white oak arches and a spa-inspired waterfall concierge desk. The north lobby is meant to provide a more tranquil welcome with lush green walls, a reflecting pool and a custom stone fireplace.
“LIDO brings a level of quality that’s truly unprecedented for this area,” said Jodi Stasse, senior managing director at Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group. “What sets it apart is the range of residences available – from well-appointed one-bedrooms to expansive multifloor penthouses and garden terrace residences, there’s a home for every lifestyle and preference. Whether buyers are looking to relocate full time or secure a vacation home in what’s quickly becoming one of New Jersey’s most vibrant seaside destinations, LIDO bridges the ease of a luxury, lock-and-leave lifestyle with the elevated design and experience today’s buyers expect.”
