JCMLiving has completed a new 295-unit apartment building in Wood-Ridge, marking the final residential phase in the sweeping Wesmont Station project that spans nearly two decades.
The developer unveiled the property, Rosera Wesmont, during a recent ceremony that drew Mayor Paul Sarlo and other dignitaries, according to a news release. Also on hand were members of the project team that helped design and construct the collection of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, where residents are roughly a mile from Route 17 and have access to some 35,000 square feet of shared amenity spaces at the property
The building is the latest addition to Wesmont Station, a master-planned, 150-acre district by the firm now known as Inspired by Somerset Development, which has brought a bustling mixed-use development to what was the site of a World War II-era aircraft plant.
“This moment marks the culmination of nearly 25 years of vision and dedication,” said Andrew Weissman, director of North Jersey at JCMLiving. “Once home to a historic aircraft facility that powered the Allied victory in World War II, this site has been thoughtfully reimagined into a vibrant residential community. Rosera Wesmont stands as a testament to what’s possible when public and private partners come together with a shared commitment to progress. We’re especially grateful to the borough of Wood-Ridge and Mayor Sarlo for their steadfast leadership throughout this journey, and to our design and development teams for bringing this vision to life.”
Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, with interior design by The Childs Dreyfus Group, Rosera Wesmont has amenities such as a 13,000-square-foot pool with a sundeck and a landscaped courtyard, coworking spaces and fitness and wellness spaces including a multilevel gym, yoga studio, sauna and bar. Rents start from $2,285 for a studio.
The development team added that NJ Transit rail service, which is available at a stop that was built as part of the Wesmont Station project, provides a 30-minute ride to Manhattan. Residents within the development site also have access to more than 17,000 square feet of retail space, including 3,000 square feet within Rosera Wesmont, along with a 480-space parking garage with direct access from every level.
“The project began with a bold vision, nearly a quarter of a century in the making,” said Rubin Schron, founder of Cammeby’s International Group. “From day one, our vision, in partnership with Somerset Development led by Ralph Zucker, has been to transform this former industrial site into a vibrant residential neighborhood — and today, Rosera Wesmont stands as a testament to that commitment. We don’t see residents as just residents — they’re our customers. That’s the philosophy we’ve carried through our family business, and it’s what drives us to deliver the highest quality living experience possible with Rosera Wesmont.”
Cammeby’s announced in April that it had acquired the adjacent building, a 406-unit apartment previously known as Avalon Wesmont Station, for $161.5 million.
