Jeffrey Paul Wiener

Jeffrey Wiener, a revered, highly successful broker who spent nearly five decades with The Kislak Co. Inc., including 17 years as its president, has died after a long illness. He was 75.
An obituary posted this week said Wiener passed away July 9 after a battle with progressive supranuclear palsy, leaving behind a large family and a network of fond colleagues throughout the commercial real estate industry. That includes those at Woodbridge-based Kislak, the storied brokerage firm, where he began in 1973 and served as president from 1995 to 2012.
“For many years, he was the top salesperson at Kislak and remains one of the all-time most successful brokers of multifamily properties in New Jersey,” his obituary reads. “After stepping down from the presidency, he remained active in the business that he loved for many years.”
A lifelong New Jersey resident, Wiener was born in Passaic on June 12, 1950. The obituary notes that he graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans and went to work on Wall Street, before moving to Kislak in the early 1970s and launching a career as a multifamily broker.
Wiener had many other interests, according to the obituary, including playing golf and tennis. He was also an avid Scrabble player and belonged to many Scrabble clubs over the years, while he enjoyed cruises and trips with family and friends as well as his “happy place” at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel.
More recently, Wiener enjoyed his condo in Boca Raton, Florida, with his longtime partner, Karen Marra. He is predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Louise Wiener and survived by many loved ones, including his son Mark Wiener, daughter Lindsay Ronan (husband Robert), grandson Connor, sister Susan Ullrich (husband Richard), brother David (wife Ellen), his ex-wife and dear friend Maureen Wiener and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 13, at 11:30 a.m. (doors open at 10:30 a.m.) at Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel at 150 Route 4 in Paramus. The Wiener family will be sitting shiva at the home of Jeff’s sister Susan Ullrich, at 7 Brookvale Road in Kinnelon, from 4 to 9 p.m. July 13 and at the same time on Monday, July 14.
In lieu of gifts, Wiener’s family asked friends and colleagues to consider donating to his favorite charity, Hope & Heroes at hopeandheroes.org, which funds research for pediatric cancer and clinical care to children in need.
