KSS Architects has announced five new principals, touting them as the next generation of its leadership teams across its New Jersey and Pennsylvania offices.
The firm, which is based in Princeton, said the newly promoted professionals include Beth Emig, Alicia Heinsen, Srinath Nallan, Kyle Rendall and Andrew Sniderman. Collectively, they bring expertise across education, housing, workplace, industrial, construction administration and firm operations, KSS said, reflecting its belief that architecture can create meaningful and lasting change for clients, communities and the world.
Emig, Heinsen and Sniderman work out of the firm’s Philadelphia office, while Nallan and Rendall are in Princeton. Each is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
“These five individuals reflect the heart and soul of KSS,” said Scot Murdocch, partner at KSS Architects. “Their leadership, creativity and commitment to our mission inspire everyone around them and strengthen our collective impact. On behalf of all the partners, I am proud to congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition.”
KSS said Emig is a trusted leader in education projects ranging from K-12 to higher education and in the design of environments that support individuals with neurological and developmental challenges. Her work includes Rowan University’s Discovery Hall, Bancroft’s Mount Laurel Campus and others, the practice said, describing her as a mentor and role model who continues to push boundaries and elevate its design culture.
Heinsen, meantime, has helped grow KSS’ housing, workplace and industrial sectors while championing mentorship and design excellence, the company said. It cited her work on 510 Carnegie Center and Innovation Park in Mercer County as examples of her thoughtful approach to project delivery and people development.
In his own tenure with the firm, Nallan has formalized processes, strengthened financial systems and enhanced KSS’ overall understanding of performance and accountability, according to a news release. With a global perspective shaped by 10 years in the merchant navy, Srinath combines pragmatism and empathy to guide KSS toward what it said was a sustainable, thriving future.
Rendall, the firm’s director of construction administration, joined as an intern in 2007 and has taken what it described as a nontraditional path to leadership. He also ensures that design intent is carried through to the final handshake with the client, fostering trust and long-term partnerships, while he has played a key role in growing its presence in emerging markets such as sports and hospitality.
Sniderman, for his part, has demonstrated his value with complex projects like Edelman Fossil Park & Museum of Rowan University and by exploring the future of industrial markets through a multimodal freight network. A mentor and advocate for emerging talent, he also plays a key role in recruitment and thought leadership across the firm.
