Larken Associates has broken ground on a project that will add nearly 71,000 square feet to its portfolio of shallow-bay industrial space in Flemington, the firm announced Tuesday.
In a news release, the developer said it was eyeing a July 2026 completion date for the two-building property at 21 Minneakoning Road, as it looks to meet growing demand in central New Jersey. Plans call for 31-foot clear ceiling heights, 50-foot column spacing, six loading dock doors with levelers and multiple drive-in doors, along with heavy power and floor load, LED motion sensor lighting and 360-degree site circulation.
The 70,637-square-foot complex will be known as Flemington Junction Business Center III, building off two previous ground-up projects nearby and creating a portfolio in the borough that will total 270,000 square feet. That represents 25 percent of Larken’s industrial development over the past five years.
“Hunterdon County has consistently maintained one of the lowest industrial vacancy rates in the state,” said Rob Marek, executive vice president of Larken Associates’ commercial division. “This supply-constrained environment makes it difficult for businesses to find the space they need to grow. With Flemington Junction Business Center III, we are excited to deliver modern, flexible space that will support local businesses and strengthen the regional economy.”
The firm, which is based in Branchburg, is preleasing the new project and offering units ranging from 3,900 to 35,300 square feet.
