A developer has broken ground on a large mixed-use project in Hillsborough, where plans call for 191 luxury apartments and some 28,000 square feet of retail space.
The firm, Larken Associates, on Tuesday announced the launch of construction at 650 Route 206. The project known as Hillsborough Village Center is slated for occupancy in mid-2021, creating what the builder says will be a retail and residential hub in the heart of the township’s business district.
“We are excited to bring this project to Hillsborough as it will create high-quality dining and retail options in the town’s evolving business corridor, while creating a modern residential experience for those wishing to find a home in one of a New Jersey’s most sought-after communities,” said David Gardner, CEO and president and Larken Associates.
Located off Hillsborough’s busy Route 206 retail corridor, the project will feature nine multifamily buildings comprised of one-, two- and three-bedroom units, along with three mixed-use buildings with 28,000 square feet of ground-level retail and with apartments above. The complex will include both market-rate and affordably priced apartments.
Plans for the elevator and duplex apartment buildings call for high-end interiors, private garages for each tenant and on-site storage, Larken said. Additional amenities will include a two-story clubhouse featuring a business center, game room and theater, plus an outdoor heated pool and spa.
