A maker of laundry products is the newest tenant at a 130,000-square-foot industrial building in Ramsey, following a lease arranged by NAI James E. Hanson.
Brokers with the firm said Wednesday that Handy Laundry is taking 40,000 square feet at the property, 50 Spring St., which is owned by Yankee Partners LLC. The tenant is relocating from Rockland County, New York, to the property just off Route 17.
NAI Hanson’s Kenneth Lundberg, Gary Sauerborn and Patrick Lennon represented the landlord, touting the building’s 18-foot ceiling heights, four tailgates and easy access to Interstate 287 and Route 202.
“We have continued to see an increase in the number of companies looking to secure space in the Upper Bergen County market,” Lundberg said in a prepared statement. “The attractive real estate taxes and comparatively lower leasing rates compared to neighboring submarkets provides companies with an ideal opportunity to relocate if they are looking for a new home.
“Fortunately, our long history of working in this market enables our team to properly position our clients’ spaces to attract companies looking to relocate and then negotiate long-term leases at a fair market value.”
Handy Laundry, a manufacturer and nationwide distributor of laundry bags, hampers and household items, had been searching for a new location that offered the same accessibility as its current facility but with significantly lower real estate taxes, NAI Hanson said. The company was also seeking increased square footage to allow for continued growth.
Its new home in Ramsey, which is managed by John Landers and Karen Vincentz, is about 10 minutes over the state line from its current home in Monsey, New York.
