A law practice has acquired a newly renovated, 6,000-square-foot office building in downtown Montclair, in a newly announced deal by NAI James E. Hanson.
According to the brokerage team, Birkhold and Maider LLC is moving from Nutley to the new location at 7 North Mountain Ave. The space will provide room to grow for the full-service law firm, which specializes in personal injury representation, claims support, settlement, litigation, municipal and criminal cases, in a building that provides easy access to the town’s restaurants, shops and entertainment options.
NAI Hanson’s Jessica Curry represented the buyer, while Evergreen Commercial’s Joe Defeo represented the seller, Looney Realty LLC. Terms were not disclosed.
“7 North Mountain Avenue’s high visibility and optimal location within Montclair were driving forces in the buyer’s decision to purchase the property,” Curry said. “The distinct historical charm of the building made this transaction very unique, and I wish Birkhold and Maider LLC all the best with their new space.”
In a news release, NAI Hanson noted that 7 North Mountain Ave. is a three-story office building originally constructed as a Victorian-style single-family home. Recently renovated by the seller, the property has stained glass windows, fireplaces with tile surrounds in each office and inset seating, among other appealing features.
The building also sits at the busy intersection of North Mountain Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue across from the Montclair Art Museum, the news release said. Occupants are one mile from NJ Transit’s Walnut Street station, which provides direct access to New York City, and some 12 miles from Newark Liberty International Airport.
