A genetic testing company has renewed and expanded its lease in the Iselin section of Woodbridge, where it now occupies a total of 28,000 square feet.
According to Colliers, which represented the tenant, Invitae has nearly doubled its footprint at 485F Route 1 South, the site of Woodbridge Corporate Plaza. The 13,500-square-foot expansion will accommodate the company’s growth, providing additional research and development areas as well as room for new offices at a campus that spans more than 630,000 square feet.
Colliers Executive Managing Director Charlie Hatfield led the team that secured the 10-year lease. Newmark represents Northeast Capital Group, the landlord at the recently updated, six-building complex just east of the Garden State Parkway.
“We are pleased to have worked with Invitae to ensure the company has room to grow within Woodbridge Corporate Plaza, an incredible complex that provides countless amenities to tenants,” Hatfield said. “In its expanded space, Invitae will be able to continue its work enabling everyone to take control of their health based on their genetics.”
Woodbridge Corporate Plaza provides Invitae and other tenants with a high-end fitness center, a conference and training center, a full-service café with catering and delivery and other services. The plaza is also minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike and other major highways, while ownership provides users with shuttle service to the Metropark transit hub.
