A national fitness concept has taken 4,500 square feet at the Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater, in a newly announced deal by Levin Management Corp.
According to a news release, the new D1 Training studio at 365 Route 206 is part of a growing footprint that includes locations in Bergen County, Middletown and Princeton and more than 150 across the country. It also further bolsters the tenant lineup and reflects continued leasing momentum at the 219,000-square-foot property, which is anchored by Barnes & Noble and benefits from a location near Route 28 and the Somerville Circle.
LMC’s Vanessa Kelty represented ownership. Jake Frantzman of RIPCO Real Estate represented D1 Training, a performance-based strength and conditioning concept.
“Somerset Shopping Center continues to strategically evolve as a destination that aligns with how consumers shop and live today,” said Kelty, a senior leasing representative with North Plainfield-based LMC. “D1 Training is a natural fit, adding to the tenant mix and complementing the surrounding retailers and services with a wellness-focused use that drives repeat visitation.”
Founded in 2001, D1 Training offers coach-led strength and conditioning programs for youth athletes and adults, the news release said. Its newest New Jersey studio is in a location that draws about 1.2 million visits annually, according to Placer.ai data cited by LMC, serving a trade area with 126,623 residents within five miles and an average household income of $178,015.
The center also sees significant daily demand, with a daytime population of 216,656 within five miles, and boasts other recent additions such as Boot Barn, Strand Salon Studios, Liquor Cave, Fred Astaire Dance Studio and Style Brow Bar, the leasing and management team. Other tenants include Gap Factory, Fortunoff Backyard Store, Men’s Wearhouse, Hand & Stone Massage & Spa, Pearle Vision, Norman’s Hallmark and Optimum, along with a mix of dining options.
“Fitness and wellness concepts have become an important part of a well-balanced tenant mix,” said Matthew K. Harding, Levin’s CEO. “Adding a brand like D1 Training supports consistent traffic, strengthens the customer experience and helps ensure centers remain relevant to the communities they serve.”
LMC is currently marketing available spaces ranging from 2,500 to 22,200 square feet.
