A pickleball facility is coming to Jersey City after taking space at the 95,000-square-foot Twin City Shopping Center, in a newly announced deal by Levin Management Corp.
In a news release, the leasing team said PB Club will occupy 8,350 square feet at the grocery-anchored property along Garfield Avenue and just north of the Bayonne border at Broadway and 53rd Street. That will serve as Jersey City’s first dedicated indoor pickleball facility, LMC said, expanding regional access to the nation’s fastest-growing sport.
Nicole Anderocci, LMC leasing representative, represented ownership in the deal with PB Club, which is owned and operated by Ari and Naomi Saposh.
“Our coworking space allows people that work remotely to utilize our private, sound-proof area while meeting others with a shared interest in pickleball,” Ari Saposh said. “Jersey City is the anchor of Hudson County. PB Club is a new opportunity in the community for those who enjoy the sport, and we are excited to give residents the chance to play year-round in a brand-new climate-controlled facility.”
The husband-and-wife duo plan to open three additional PB Club facilities in Hudson County over the next 18 months, the news release said. LMC noted that the space is designed for casual and competitive players and will feature three pro-style indoor courts in a modern, polished setting, with on-site amenities including a water station, vending and grab-and-go snack options, paddle racks and stools and a sleek lounge area with coworking space.
The firm added that pickleball — a hybrid of tennis, table tennis and badminton — has exploded in popularity in recent years, attracting players of all ages and skill levels.
“PB Club brings an exciting new energy to Twin City Shopping Center, and we’re proud to be part of its launch in Jersey City,” Anderocci said. “This lease reflects our commitment to curating tenant mixes that evolve beyond traditional retail to include recreation and community engagement. As Jersey City’s first dedicated indoor pickleball facility, PB Club not only diversifies our offerings but also enhances the area’s recreational landscape.”
Existing tenants at the center, which serves a growing residential population of more than 187,000 people within a three-mile radius, include Aqui Market, Retro Fitness, Catch Air, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen and Dunkin’. It’s also home to the newly opened Sakura Teriyaki, along with a mix of neighborhood retailers and service providers.
