Quick-service restaurant Sakura Teriyaki has leased nearly 2,000 square feet at Twin City Shopping Center in Jersey City, in a newly announced deal by Levin Management Corp.
The operator, whose concept includes popular teriyaki dishes along with bento boxes, poke bowls and sushi, is marking its second location with the new space at 2-36 Garfield Ave. It will join existing food tenants including Taco Bell, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, Wendy’s and Dunkin’ at the grocery-anchored, 95,000-square-foot complex on the Bayonne border and just north of the 53rd Street intersection.
LMC’s E.J. Moawad, senior leasing representative, completed the 1,950-square-foot deal on ownership’s behalf.
“Offering generous portions of quality food prepared fresh and fast, Sakura Teriyaki is a healthy alternative to fast food,” said business operator Michael Li, whose existing location is in Belleville. “We use fresh ingredients that create mouthwatering flavors in all our dishes, and we are excited to be expanding into Hudson County at Twin City Shopping Center. We look forward to introducing Sakura Teriyaki to those who live and work in the community.”
LMC added that patrons will be able to dine in or take out from the new Jersey City location.
“This concept brings something new and different to the property’s restaurant lineup,” Moawad said. “It’s a great fit for this property and the neighborhood.”
Twin City Shopping Center’s tenant mix also includes Aqui Market, Retro Fitness, Catch Air, Everything $.99, Apple Nail Salon and T-Mobile, along with a mix of neighborhood conveniences, according to a news release. The center sits just off Exit 14A of the New Jersey Turnpike and serves a growing residential population of nearly 35,000 people within a one-mile radius.
Some 19,000 vehicles pass the property each day, LMC added. It also draws 1.4 million visits per year, the firm said, citing real-time traffic data from Placer.ai.
LMC is marketing one remaining, 8,350-square-foot availability at Twin City Shopping Center.
