Colliers International Group has bolstered its office leasing team in New Jersey, hiring a veteran broker with a history of representing high-profile corporate tenants.
The firm announced the hiring of Charles J. Hatfield, who has represented companies such as Merrill Lynch, AIG and Coca-Cola, among many others. In the new role with Colliers, he will focus primarily on tenant representation and agency leasing and will be based in the firm’s Princeton office.
“We are very pleased to have Charlie join our team. His diverse background spanning more than 25 years in the commercial real estate industry will benefit the companies we represent,” said David A. Simon, executive managing director of Colliers in New Jersey. “Having worked for a major architectural firm and prominent landlord earlier in his career has given him experience, knowledge and perspective that truly set him apart.”
Hatfield has represented a wide range of other clients and tenants including KKR/Capstone, Marsh & McLennan, Pharmacia, Mobil and Prudential, among several others. He also provided representation through the disposition and acquisition of land; core, shell, and interior office construction; build-to-suits; and large-scale lease transactions.
“Colliers has a very strong platform, especially in consulting and occupier services,” Hatfield said. “I am very impressed by the resources and the direction the firm is taking and I am looking forward to contributing to the continued growth of this great company.”
The Princeton-area resident earned a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Colorado and a graduate diploma from New York University’s Real Estate Institute.
