A cosmetics company has retrofitted a former Becton Dickenson plant in Totowa after recently purchasing the building to accommodate its own manufacturing operation.
The business, Englewood LAB, acquired the 125,000-square-foot facility at 20 Campus Road as part of a deal orchestrated by United Realty Advisors LLC. The complex is a former respiratory tubing manufacturing plant for BD subsidiary CareFusion 2200.
Englewood LAB manufacturers and packages cosmetics.
“As soon as we inspected the BD plant, we recognized the building’s aesthetic and existing infrastructure could be redeveloped to satisfy ELAB’s vision and strategy of creating a state-of-the-art USA packaging facility,” said John Friedland, United Realty’s managing partner. “Existing laboratory areas, manufacturing clean rooms, power distribution, compressed air systems and high-density sprinkler systems were all adapted and utilized by the executive team to create a spectacular new facility.”
The JLL team of Dan Loughlin, international director; Peter Ladas, senior vice president; and Howard Weinberg, executive vice president, represented the seller.
