Maser Consulting PA has expanded its offerings with the acquisition of a southern New Jersey firm that specializes in construction inspection and material testing services.
The consulting and engineering design firm, which is based in Red Bank, announced Monday that it has acquired Craig Testing Laboratories of Mays Landing. The move is meant to complement and enhance Maser’s own platform with capabilities that include geotechnical engineering, construction quality assurance, materials testing and special inspection services, the firm said, noting that Craig Testing has inspectors who are certified by the state Department of Community Affairs.
“We are very excited to join forces with Craig Testing Laboratories,” said Kevin L. Haney, president and chief operating officer of Maser Consulting. “We believe the synergy generated with the merging of our firms will create an organization with technical capabilities and coordinated, in-house services unmatched by other firms in the region.”
Founded in Monmouth County in 1984, Maser has more than 900 employees in 12 states and 32 offices nationwide. Its new acquisition is a fully accredited testing lab for soils, aggregate, concrete and asphalt by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.
“The decision to become a part of the Maser Consulting organization was made as a strategic move toward providing new opportunities and expansion for both companies,” said Eduardo Freire, president of Craig Testing Laboratories. “As such, I want to assure you that this teaming will afford additional resources and expertise to reinforce the service our clients have come to expect from us.”
