Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects has promoted a key member of its interior design team.
Paula Rocha, who is now an interior design director, joined the Hoboken-based firm in 2016 but has spent the past 18 years providing architecture and interior design services for single-family, multifamily and commercial spaces in New York and New Jersey. Her focus with MHS has been architectural interiors for transit-oriented, mixed-used multifamily developments.
“With a thorough understanding and knowledge base of fabric, furniture and lighting, Paula has been developing design solutions for multiple concurrent projects from concept through construction drawings,” MHS Architects said in its announcement. “Paula collaborates with all team members, principals and consultants to ensure design intent is carried through construction drawings and all material and (furniture, fixtures and equipment) selections, schedules and budgets set realistic expectations.”
The firm added that Rocha has been building its interior design portfolio and leading the interiors studio to produce relevant and contemporary spaces using various 3D animation techniques. Her skillset plays “an integral part in MHS Architects’ long-term strategy that ensures our clients can receive a complete design service from groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting.”
