A developer has acquired a two-acre portion of a golf course in Gloucester County, where plans call for the construction of a single residential dwelling.
Brokers with Vantage Real Estate Services announced Monday that they represented Swedesboro Corp. in the sale of the parcel, part of the 227-acre Beckett Golf Course at 2387 Kings Hwy. in Woolwich Township. The firm said an independent developer acquired the property for an undisclosed sum.
Vantage RES senior advisers Corinne Giletto and Ken Richardson completed the transaction.
“There is an incredible need for new residential development in Gloucester County at this time and we are uniquely positioned to sell a portion of the land of Beckett Golf Course for residential development,” Giletto said.
The brokers noted that, after many years of operation, the owners of the 32-year-old golf course have decided to divest their interest in the property. Vantage RES is still marketing seven additional parcels with a combined 225 acres.
“We are introducing new investors to Woolwich Township at a pinnacle time in its redevelopment,” Richardson said.
