J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc. has acquired a 34,000-square-foot school building in North Bergen as part of a push to expand its footprint in the education sector.
The firm, which is based in Asbury, said the property at 4511 Liberty Ave. is currently leased to North Hudson Academy, a First Children school providing educational services for prekindergarten through high school students with disabilities. It operates as a New Jersey Department of Education-approved private school, Petrucci said, adding that the deal marks its second with First Children after a build-to-suit lease for a 45,000-square-foot school in Plainfield.
“Petrucci’s long-term vision and commitment to our mission will help us continue to grow and deliver life-changing educational services to the families we serve,” said Matt Hess, CEO of First Children Services.
Petrucci acquired 4511 Liberty Ave. in late June, noting that the facility sits on roughly two-thirds of an acre. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This property represents exactly the kind of community-focused acquisition that aligns with our mission,” said Greg Rogerson, a principal at Petrucci. “Investments in education are critical to strengthening the communities we serve and will remain a focus of our growth strategy.”
