A fast-growing Pilates chain has added roughly 20 locations in New Jersey in the past two years, with plans to add at least another 10 in the state as part of a continued nationwide expansion.
Ripco Real Estate, which represents the operator, said Tuesday that Club Pilates has grown over the past two years from 20 studios to more than 250 locations in 36 states. The chain plans to continue its aggressive rollout through 2018 with the addition of another 100 to 150 studios throughout the country.
Florian Suserman, who is based in Ripco’s Lyndhurst office and serves as Club Pilates’ national broker, described the concept as the world’s largest network of Pilates studios, which offers classes seven days a week to more than 42,000 members throughout the U.S. He said the operator has 10 to 15 new locations in various stages of development in the Garden State.
Those locations include Wall, Marlboro, Northvale, Denville, Paramus and Hanover Township. In Montvale, the chain is preparing to open a space in a new shopping center anchored by a Wegmans.
Ripco also highlighted existing Club Pilates spaces in Ramsey, Englewood, Wyckoff and West Caldwell.

The chain typically occupies 1,600 square feet in mid- to upper-income markets with parking and good visibility, according to Suserman, who has done more than 100 deals with the franchise concept. The operator looks to be close to other retailers servicing daily needs.
He added that Club Pilates is known as a premium fitness brand attracting customers that are living and striving for a healthier more balanced lifestyle. The concept specializing in strength-training workouts for any age or fitness ability.
“This studio concept is an ideal tenant and neighbor due to its clientele and minimal requirements for building out the studio,” Suserman said, adding the a Club Pilates location requires only 12 to 15 parking spaces, while “there is minimal overlap in parking due to 10-minute intervals between classes.
“Club Pilates’ co-tenants also benefit from 100 plus members visiting each day.”
