Construction is underway on a 268,000-square-foot industrial facility in Camden County’s Waterford Township.
Its developer, PNK Group, broke ground last week at the 53-acre site at the junction of routes 30 and 73 and minutes from Interstate 295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. That will be the home of what it described as a multifunctional facility, noting earlier this year that it will support uses ranging from manufacturing to storage and distribution, thanks in part to the increased material density and durability of the premanufactured, large-format blocks that it will use to build the project.
Completion is slated for the third quarter of 2026.
“Saying we’re excited about this project would be an understatement,” Waterford Township Mayor Robert Doney said. “This is likely one of the largest — if not the largest — developments our township has seen in a very long time. We’re thrilled to welcome PNK to our community and look forward to seeing this impressive building come to life, bringing jobs, opportunities and growth to Waterford.”
Doney was among several public officials on hand for the Oct. 14 ceremony, which also drew state Sen. Paul D. Moriarty, Deputy Mayor Thomas Giangiulio, Police Chief Daniel Cormaney and other representatives from the township. According to Mark Stiles, partner at New York-based PNK Group, the southern New Jersey region is of strategic importance for the company because of the ability to access some 35 million residents within a 150-mile radius.
That includes those in the metropolitan areas of New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., he firm noted. It added that South Jersey traditionally sees strong tenant demand due to its strategic location, proximity to four major seaports, high population density and access to skilled labor.
PNK is developing the project with the help of a 20-year payment in lieu of taxes program, which it says offers significant tax advantages for future tenants and users.
