A produce distributor has picked Dermody Properties to develop its new packing and cold storage facility in Gloucester County, the developer announced Tuesday.
Dermody, a Reno, Nevada-based firm, said it is building the 152,200-square-foot property for Greenyard, a global produce distributor based in Belgium. The facility will be the newest piece of LogistiCenterSM at Logan, a 5.5 million-square-foot industrial park in Logan Township owned by Dermody and Great Point Investors LLC.
In a news release, the developer said the new facility marks the first expansion of the Fresh division of Greenyard in the U.S. Currently operating as UNIVEG Logistics America, the company’s name will change to Greenyard Logistics USA Inc. upon completion of the new facility, which will quadruple its capacity and substantially increase job opportunities.
“We are excited to help this internationally renowned family of companies expand its U.S. operations with this new facility,” Gene Preston, partner with Dermody Properties’ east region office, said in a prepared statement. “We believe LogistiCenterSM at Logan is an ideal location to expand the company’s northeast operations and look forward to developing an exceptional facility for them.”

Seald Sweet, which belongs to the Fresh division of Greenyard and is a sister company of Greenyard Logistics USA, will also relocate its current Northeast import production operations and sales offices to the new facility.
“Expansion in our Northeast operations and the U.S. market is our driving objective and part of our strategic plan,” said Mayda Sotomayor-Kirk, president of Greenyard Logistics USA. “Being part of UNIVEG, the Fresh division of Greenyard has propelled our continued growth. We outgrew our current facility some time ago and designed the new facility with the ability for future expansion going forward.”
Greenyard will join several other industrial tenants at LogistiCenterSM, including Albert’s Organics, Kimberly Clark Corp., Mission Produce, Performance Food Group and Penske, the news release said. Great Point Investors LLC is Dermody Properties’ capital partner on developments within LogistiCenterSM at Logan.
“We are proud to partner with Dermody Properties to deliver this state-of-the-art facility for Greenyard,” said Joseph Versaggi, principal of Great Point Investors. “We are equally excited about our continuing efforts to make LogistiCenter at Logan the premier logistics destination in southern New Jersey for sophisticated corporate users.”
