A local developer is moving ahead with the bulk of a new project in Bayonne that will bring fast food, an auto parts store and other operators to what is now a vacant lot off Route 440.
A report by The Jersey Journal said the firm, Alessi Organization, is set to begin construction this month on the project on East 22nd Street. Plans call for a Burger King, an Auto Zone, and a 13,000-square-foot commercial building, the report said, along with a 5,496-square-foot Quick Chek and gas station that broke ground last month.
Frank Alessi, vice president of asset management and real estate development for the Bayonne-based firm, told the newspaper he has “several letters of intent from different operators” for the other commercial building. He said tenants could come online by late this summer.
