The prominent New Jersey law firm long known as Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP has officially shortened its name as part of a newly announced rebranding.
Based in Morristown, the practice announced Wednesday that it will operate as Riker Danzig LLP, effective June 1. It is the first such change since 1990, when it sought to mark the addition of notable legal luminaries such as Everett M. Scherer, a highly respected New Jersey Superior Court Judge, and former state attorneys general William F. Hyland and Peter N. Perretti Jr.
The law firm dates back to 1882, when it was founded in Newark as Riker & Riker.
“The inestimable influence of our name partners on our firm, our reputation and our practice remains today,” Riker Danzig Co-Chairman Brian E. O’Donnell said. “We never want to lose the rich history of the firm. By rebranding as Riker Danzig, we are simply in line with the reality of our common name in the business and legal worlds, allowing for a more dynamic brand presence.”
The practice on Wednesday also unveiled a new website at www.riker.com, which highlights its distinctive headquarters in downtown Morristown and photos of attorneys working together, seeking to showcase its collegial culture and collaborative personality, according to a news release. Another improvement is quick access to information and pieces written by Riker Danzig’s attorneys across various practice areas.
“Our new website was designed for an intuitive user experience, providing easy access to the information our clients want, with seamless links between industries, practices, thought leadership and attorney bios,” said Michael R. O’Donnell, co-managing partner and chair of the firm’s practice development committee, which led the website development project.
