Chipotle has committed to new locations in Jersey City and Bernardsville, following the completion of leases arranged by RKF.
In a news release, the retail brokerage said it represented the quick-service Mexican restaurant in the transactions at the Bernardsville Centre on Morristown Road and at 26 Journal Square in Jersey City. The leases total nearly 5,000 square feet.
RKF Senior Managing Director Glenn Beyer handled the assignment out of the firm’s Rutherford office.
“We were thrilled to secure both of these opportunities for Chipotle Mexican Grill,” Beyer said. “RKF has worked closely with Chipotle during its expansion throughout New Jersey, identifying strategic markets and uncovering great spaces strategies. We are excited to continue to assist Chipotle in serving the needs of the growing residential and worker populations of throughout Northern and Central New Jersey.”
Silbert Realty and Management represented the landlord in Bernardsville, Bernardsville Centre LLC, which offered 2,138 square feet in a grocery-anchored shopping center. RKF touted its location immediately adjacent to Bernards High School, which provides the chance to capture both the foot traffic from the school and the robust commuter traffic on Morristown Road.
The restaurant is expected to open in December.
The Jersey City store, set to open early next year, is a 2,321-square-foot corner space owned by Kushner Cos. Beyer said Chipotle will have prime visibility and serve as an amenity for the office tenants in the building and the surrounding area, which has growing daytime and residential populations and is near both the county courthouse and two college campuses.
