Rockefeller Group has elevated two of its senior executives, promoting R. Stokes Moore to chief investment officer and Marisa Gadlin to chief administrative officer.
Moore, who was already an executive vice president and chief financial officer with the New York-based developer, assumes an expanded role that also includes chair of its investment committee tasked with evaluating new investment and development opportunities nationally. He also oversees all aspects of the accounting, tax, finance, treasury and business analysis and planning functions and collaborates with key Rockefeller Group executives to develop and execute the company’s investment and disposition strategies.
In addition, Moore oversees the company’s IT and corporate facilities departments, which manage its technology infrastructure and investment, as well as office services.
“Stokes has been integral to Rockefeller Group’s growth over the last decade, helping us expand the depth and breadth of our business,” said Daniel J. Moore, Rockefeller Group’s CEO and president. “His skills in capital allocation, risk analysis and prudent investing will continue to be instrumental in the years to come.”
Moore has served as CFO since 2018 and as executive vice president since January 2021, according to a news release. His responsibilities have increased throughout his tenure in tandem with the company’s growth in development nationally, the firm said, noting that it has more than doubled its development portfolio over the past five years to 23.1 million square feet from 9.7 million square feet and increased total project value to more than $6 billion.
Prior to joining Rockefeller Group, Moore spent 14 years in a variety of finance roles at Unilever, most recently as a global finance director, the news release said. He is also a former consultant at The Boston Consulting Group and holds a bachelor’s in history from Duke University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Gadlin, for her part, rises to chief administrative officer and executive vice president while retaining her position as head of core holdings. Based in New York, she now oversees three of the company’s corporate departments, including human resources, corporate communications and legal, all of which provide services to the company and its development partners on a national basis.
In addition, she continues to lead Rockefeller Group’s core holdings business, which is its Manhattan office portfolio.
“Marisa has been an outstanding addition to Rockefeller Group, and her expanded role is a reflection of her many contributions to the success of the company in recent years,” said Moore, the firm’s chief executive. “I look forward to working with her as our CAO.”
Gadlin joined Rockefeller Group in 2021 and has been responsible for the long-term value enhancement activities at 1221 Avenue of the Americas, 1271 Avenue of the Americas and 745 Seventh Ave., which are nearly 100 percent occupied, the news release said. She oversees all leasing transactions within the portfolio — shepherding some 500,000 square feet of new office transactions in 2025 — and is responsible for comprehensive asset management oversight, which includes facility and project management.
The company added that Gadlin has more than two decades of real estate experience spanning investment, asset management and operations. Prior to joining the firm, she was vice president, asset management, for Paramount Group and was responsible for nine buildings in New York City and San Francisco totaling more than 9 million square feet.
She joined Paramount Group in its acquisitions department in 2006 and held various positions of increasing authority, the news release said. Prior to that, Gadlin spent two years with Tishman Speyer and previously was an analyst in Rothschild’s mergers and acquisitions group.
Gadlin holds a bachelor’s in economics from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to its core portfolio, which totals about 6 million square feet of high-end office space in Midtown Manhattan, Rockefeller Group operates from 12 offices nationally, with a development pipeline spanning 16 states and Washington, D.C.
