Alfred Sanzari Enterprises has launched a multimillion-dollar update of the Glenpointe Marriott, a key piece of its flagship campus in Teaneck and the site of several major industry events throughout the year.
The family-owned firm said the renovation at the 351-room, full-service property will focus largely on its 39,317-square-foot meeting and conference space. Slated for completion in fall 2024, the project calls for the replacement of carpeting, wall coverings, paint and furniture throughout the first- and second-floor pre-function spaces, boardrooms and meeting rooms as well as the 1,200-person capacity ballroom.
Sanzari’s in-house construction management team is overseeing the project in tandem with HotelStudio and Kimmerle Newman Architects. The group has also collaborated with Soho Art Consulting to commission artwork from New Jersey artist Leena Joshi and others to complete the design transformation, ownership said, noting that the update will take inspiration from the nearby Palisades Interstate Park and look to blend natural touches with a contemporary feel.
“The success of our long-term ownership strategy is powered by proactive and strategic investments in our properties to ensure they remain best in class,” said Ryan Sanzari, president of Alfred Sanzari Enterprises. “We are excited to make these capital investments into our flagship property to ensure it remains an unparalleled destination for events of all sizes in New Jersey.”
SLIDESHOW: Updates to Glenpointe Marriott
The Glenpointe Marriott is one of three hotels on the 50-acre campus, which also has 670,000 square feet of office space, restaurants and retail services. The site is also home to the 350-room, Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites dual-branded hotel, which opened in 2018 to expand the hospitality options at the property.
“We are taking our meeting facilities from good to great with this investment,” said David Cirincione, market general manager of the Glenpointe Marriott, Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites by Hilton. “We look forward to welcoming groups from 10 to 900 people to experience the upgrades before the end of the year.”
Amenities at Glenpointe include Marketplace, An Urban Eatery, a modern dining hall with scratch-made, chef-prepared grab-n-go meals and made-to-order options as well as specialty items from local purveyors such as Coffeecol and Balthazar Bakery, according to a news release. The campus also has a 26,000-square-foot fitness center and a 22,000-square-foot multipurpose outdoor amenity space, as well as a partnership with Better Spaces, a robust tenant engagement service that operates an on-site community lounge and app to offer tenants more than 40 free programs and classes per week.
