Seagis Property Group is breaking ground on more than 53,000 square feet of new warehouse space in Kearny that it says is preleased to a well-known national operator.
The developer said the facility, located at 500 Belleville Turnpike, will have 36-foot clear ceiling heights, seven dock doors and two drive-in doors, according to a news release. Its plans for the site also include 55 surface parking spaces and some 6,000 square feet of outdoor storage area.
Seagis, which is headquartered in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, with a significant team based in East Rutherford, expects to complete construction on the 53,315-square-foot warehouse by next summer. The building will join a portfolio that spans more than 13 million square feet and includes 200 buildings in New Jersey, New York City and South Florida.
“We are excited to commence construction of this state-of-the-art facility,” said Omer Mir Ahmed, Seagis’ chief development officer. “During our predevelopment, we were able to prelease the building to a well-known national user, and we are excited to have this exceptional company as a Seagis customer. The highly strategic location and excellent collaboration with North Arlington was instrumental.”
