A boxing-inspired gym has found a home in Belleville with a newly completed lease for nearly 10,000 square feet, according to a brokerage team with Sheldon Gross Realty.
The operator, Legacy Boxing & Fitness, is taking space inside a distinctive two-story, yellow brick building at 341 Cortlandt St. and less than a mile from Route 21, according to a news release. Sheldon Gross Realty’s Eric Weston represented the tenant in the 9,975-square-foot deal, noting that the gym is easily accessible from Newark and surrounding communities to the south, as well as from Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties to the north.
The broker, who began working for Legacy Boxing’s owner in 2011, when he placed the business at a previous location in Wayne, added that the new facility has a loading dock with a roll-up garage door for flexible access to equipment.
“Boxers are remarkably fit, so lots of people aspire to take part in that sort of intense workout,” said Weston, a vice president with West Orange-based Sheldon Gross. “For Legacy Boxing, Belleville is in the heart of one of New Jersey’s most vibrant population corridors, with thousands of potential customers in every direction.”
