SJP Properties and Jet.com have signed another expansion at the Waterfront Corporate Center complex in Hoboken, where the e-commerce firm now occupies more than 200,000 square feet.
The developer on Monday said Jet has taken another 42,000 square feet and now has space in two of the three buildings within the mixed-use development. It is one of several expansions for the four-year-old company since it first took space at Waterfront Corporate Center, starting with a 40,000-square-foot lease in 2015.
SJP also announced that its third-party development and construction unit, SJP Project Solutions, will oversee the build-out of Jet’s expansion space. The developer previously served as construction manager for the design and build-out of Jet’s initial headquarters space, a six-phase, multiyear project to achieve an open and modern headquarters environment reflective of Jet’s forward-thinking brand.
“Jet’s continued growth has been a major boon to Hoboken since the company established its headquarters in the city in 2015, bringing with it a significant number of jobs and further establishing Hoboken as a premier headquarters location for leading-edge companies,” said Steven J. Pozycki, CEO of SJP Properties. “It’s been a pleasure working closely with the Jet team to support its rapid expansion, and we look forward to collaborating on the design and execution of its new space within Waterfront Corporate Center so that the company can continue to attract and retain top talent.”
The latest expansion brings the company into Waterfront Corporate Center II, which SJP developed and owns in partnership with PGIM. Jet already occupies 160,000 square feet of office space at Waterfront Corporate Center III, the third and final building within the complex, which SJP developed and owns in partnership with Mitsui Fudosan America.
All told, the development comprises 1.5 million square feet of Class A commercial space adjacent to the W Hoboken Hotel and just steps from Hoboken Terminal’s NJ Transit, PATH, NY Waterway Ferry and light rail connections. Other office tenants at the complex include Newell Brands, Marsh & McLennan, Pearson, Thomson Reuters and others, while the retail space is home to operators such as Del Frisco’s Grille, Crunch Fitness and Kiddie Academy.
