Total Wine & More has opened a new store in North Brunswick, where it occupies 32,000 square feet under a lease arranged by Levin Management Corp. and RIPCO Real Estate.
According to LMC, the leasing and managing agent for North Village Shopping Center, the deal brings the 123,670-square-foot property at 869 Route 1 to full occupancy. It also marks Total Wine’s seventh store in New Jersey, part of a growing footprint for the nation’s largest independent retailer of wine, spirits and beer that spans nearly 290 locations across 30 states.
LMC’s Ed Vasconcellos and Brian Schuster of RIPCO represented the landlord and tenant, respectively.
“We are excited to welcome Total Wine & More to our North Brunswick property,” said Vasconcellos, a leasing representative with the North Plainfield-based firm. “This addition reflects LMC’s strategy of securing best-in-class national retailers for the centers we manage. Total Wine’s strong brand identity, broad consumer appeal and focus on delivering an exceptional shopping experience make it a perfect fit for this location.”
The leasing team announced the deal Tuesday while noting that Total Wine, which plans to reach 300 stores by year-end, is known for its expansive product selection, competitive pricing and in-store experiences including tastings, classes and events. Shoppers will find 8,000 wines from every wine-producing region in the world, along with thousands of spirits and hundreds of domestic, imported and craft beers, including many from New Jersey.
The retailer is now an anchor at North Village Shopping Center alongside Trader Joe’s, joining other national and regional tenants such Michaels, Staples, Ulta Beauty, Panera Bread, Smashburger, Chili’s and Mattress Warehouse. Citing data from Placer.ai, LMC said the complex draws some 2.6 million visits annually, thanks in large part to its highly visible and convenient location in a densely populated trade area.
“North Village Shopping Center has always been part of the North Brunswick community, and reaching full occupancy with Total Wine & More is a proud milestone,” Levin CEO Matthew K. Harding said. “Together, Trader Joe’s and Total Wine create a unique experience that will attract shoppers from well beyond the local area and strengthen the center as a regional destination.”
