Tulfra Real Estate has taken the wraps off a new 797-unit self-storage facility in Jersey City, marking the first phase of a project at the edge of Liberty State Park.
The Rochelle Park-based firm recently joined Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop to unveil the six-story, 115,000-square-foot facility at 300 Thomas McGovern Drive, where Public Storage serves as the leasing agent and manager. Also on hand were representatives of Fulton Bank, the project’s lender, and JLL, which arranged the financing for a project that is easily accessible from downtown Jersey City and a roughly 20-minute drive from Lower Manhattan.
Tulfra noted that, at full build-out, the three-phase project will span 260,000 square feet.
“This is a milestone not only for Tulfra but also for the Jersey City community,” said Sonny Jumani, the firm’s CEO and president. “We are proud to transform this former industrial site into a best-in-class storage facility that will serve thousands of residents and businesses in one of the fastest-growing markets in the nation.”
The developer added that the climate-controlled project adds to its growing self-storage portfolio, which now exceeds 1 million square feet of facilities built across northern New Jersey. It also reflects the company’s broader mission of redeveloping underutilized sites into valuable, income-generating community assets.
