Vita & Vita Realty Corp. is moving ahead with a fresh addition to its footprint in Lincoln Park after securing approvals to expand a busy retail property along Route 202.
The Fairfield-based developer said the new phase, which is slated to break ground next spring, will add 14,000 square feet to Lincoln Park Plaza for a new total of 75,000 square feet and more than 300 parking spaces. Construction will occur at a lot on George Cobb Lane, north of the existing Ace Hardware and Home Center that anchors the property and adjacent to NJ Transit’s Lincoln Park station, where Vita & Vita will raze four homes to make way for the expansion.
Lincoln Park Plaza, which is just east of Comly Road, is the firm’s third ground-up shopping center in the borough after the completion of Lincoln Square and the Corner Shoppes in Lincoln Park in 2024 and 2020, respectively. The approval to expand its newest project came by way of a unanimous vote at the Oct. 16 planning board meeting, President Anthony Vita said.
