Walters has opened the affordable housing lottery for a new 72-unit rental property in the Burlington County township of Hainesport, the developer announced Tuesday.
According to a news release, the complex on Creek Road could welcome its first residents in January after breaking ground early this year. It’s now accepting applications for the housing lottery through Oct. 16, with a drawing set to take place Oct. 29.
Cornerstone at Hainesport, located near the Mount Laurel border, will span six buildings with a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with individual entrances and parking available for residents.
“We’re proud to be investing in the Hainesport community and creating a brighter future for residents,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters. “Families will have access to high-quality, affordable homes in a prime location, surrounded by the resources and conveniences they need to thrive.”
The Barnegat-based firm noted that all homes will be income-restricted for families earning 60 percent or less of the area’s median income, noting that rates are based on the renter’s gross annual income. Those residents will have access to upscale homes and amenities such as a fitness center, a children’s tot lot, a basketball court and a community clubhouse with computer workstations.
The complex, designed by Donovan Architects, will also be built to achieve ENERGY STAR certification and a rating on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design scale.
