GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc. has expanded its footprint in Fairfield for the second time in four years, thanks to organic growth and two recent acquisitions.
The engineering and consulting firm now occupies more than 10,000 square feet at 55 Lane Road, which is owned by Fairfield 55 Lane LLC. GZA originally leased 7,500 square feet there in 2008, giving way to a 1,200-square-foot expansion in 2014 and the most recent growth of 1,500 square feet.
The company cited the growth of its environmental consulting, geotechnical engineering, dam engineering and ecological services practices, along with acquisitions earlier this year of Civil Dynamics Inc. and Melick-Tully & Associates. The former, a water and dam engineering practice, will relocate five staff members from its office in the Stockholm section of Hardyston.
Melick-Tully, a geotechnical engineering firm, will maintain its office in South Bound Brook.
“This Fairfield location is a great complement to GZA’s offices in Manhattan, South Bound Brook, Hammonton, and Philadelphia — providing excellent coverage for clients throughout the region,” said David Winslow, a principal of the firm who heads up the Fairfield and South Bound Brook offices.
