Walters is targeting a spring delivery of a new 66-unit multifamily property in Atlantic County, as it solicits residents through a just-launched affordable housing lottery.
The developer said the project, which will have a mix of income-restricted one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, is the second piece of a three-phase project at 110 South Wrangleboro Road in Galloway. It’s now accepting applications to enter the housing lottery through Monday, Dec. 29, with plans to conduct a drawing on Jan. 19.
Apartments will feature full-size washers and dryers, fully equipped kitchens and window blinds in every room, according to a news release, while residents will have access to on-site parking and amenities such as a multipurpose clubhouse with a modern fitness center, a children’s playground, a basketball court and computer workstations. In addition to managing the property, Walters provides residents with on-site supportive services.
“The success of our affordable housing communities is reflected in the well-being and long-term stability of the people who live in them,” said Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for the Barnegat-based firm. “Because we focus on supportive, sustainable housing, we incorporate environmentally responsible design elements that help our communities achieve LEED and ENERGY STAR certification.”
Cornerstone at Galloway II will be available to residents whose incomes are at or below 60 percent of the area median income, Walters said. Rental rates are based on the renter’s gross annual income, according to the rent and income requirements chart.
To be considered for future phases of Cornerstone at Galloway, prospective residents must submit a separate preliminary application. The developer plans to advertise a notice when it’s accepting applications for phase three.
