Prestige Environmental Inc., a consulting firm based in Somerset County, is starting a new chapter after being acquired by Rochester, New York-based LaBella Associates.
The transaction, which the companies announced this week, provides LaBella with a significant presence in New Jersey while supporting the continued growth of its environmental services business in the tristate region and beyond. That now includes Prestige’s team of experienced engineers, geologists and environmental professionals, who bring deep expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments and delivering community-focused projects.
LaBella, an international architecture, engineering, environmental and planning firm, now has office locations in 14 states. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“Prestige’s strong municipal relationships and environmental expertise complement our existing capabilities and support our continued growth in the tristate area,” said Jeff Roloson, president of LaBella Associates. “Expanding into New Jersey is a meaningful step as we continue to enhance how we serve clients across the region with local expertise and broad resources.”
Founded in 1993 to serve public-sector needs, Prestige Environmental specializes in environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, waste management and remediation services for federal, state and municipal governments, as well as private-sector clients, according to a news release. With the acquisition, its clients will gain access to LaBella’s full scope of multidisciplinary services and expanded geographic reach, while enhancing LaBella’s technical bench and strengthening its ability to serve clients across the region.
“Joining LaBella enables us to build on the foundation we’ve created while offering our clients additional resources and capabilities,” said Girish Mehta, principal engineer with Prestige Environmental. “LaBella’s collaborative culture and commitment to quality make this a strong fit for our team and the communities we serve.”
