A martial arts academy is relocating and expanding within Hackensack, following a 2,600-square-foot lease brokered by NAI James E. Hanson.
In a news release, the real estate services firm said it represented both parties in the deal at 151 Hudson St. The operator, Roll Star, will occupy nearly half of a 5,700-square-foot retail and office building owned by Walter Siegordne, which is less than five minutes from the academy’s previous location.
NAI Hanson’s Anthony Cassano brokered the transaction.
Roll Star, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy, had been searching for a larger space to accommodate its growing number of students and class offerings, the news release said. Its new home sits within the Hackensack central business district and offers easy access to Interstate 80 and routes 3, 17 and 46, allowing new customers to easily attend the academy.
“Hackensack’s continued emphasis on spurring sustainable business development has been a magnet for companies looking to start a business in the city or, in this case, relocate to a larger space to serve more customers,” Cassano said in a prepared statement. “This has allowed landlords in the city to see higher property values and increased leasing from quality tenants like Roll Star.
“With this in mind, we were able to leverage our knowledge of the market to negotiate a mutually acceptable deal on behalf of both parties to provide a local business with the optimal space to grow.”
