Accordia Realty Ventures has signed three new retail leases at a property in Bergen County, bringing it to full occupancy after an extensive renovation in recent years.
The transactions at The Shoppes at Godwin, located at 644 Godwin Ave. in Midland Park, include a 1,400-square-foot commitment by Skazka Cakes, Accordia said. The other new tenants are Black Belt America and JP’s, a gourmet food shop, which took 1,826 square feet and 850 square feet, respectively.
Accordia, which is based in Fairfield, purchased the 23,000-square-foot mixed-use property in 2014 after the center had suffered from years of absentee ownership and neglect, according to a news release. In 2017, the firm launched what it described as a complex, multimillion-dollar renovation to modernize the 1960s-era property with a new façade and storefronts, new apartments, new utilities and new parking lots.
The refreshed Shoppes at Godwin today is home to 15 retail units and five apartments, occupying a site on a major thoroughfare between Wyckoff and Ridgewood.
“The location is second to none and many of our tenants renewed and/or stayed put despite the disruptions,” Accordia Principal Jason Bogart said. “Today, The Shoppes at Godwin is a vibrant destination serving the community’s everyday shopping needs.”
