Eddie Rivera, who rejoined the Parsippany-based practice effective Aug. 9, brings more than 15 years of experience in public accounting, tax and advisory services. He specializes in supporting clients in the real estate and construction industry and will work with the firm’s clients on ensuring they are compliant with the latest tax laws, maximizing tax strategies, advising on the impact of proposed transactions and the effect of changing regulations on client cash flow and profitability.
“We are thrilled to welcome Eddie back to Sax as we continue to grow the sophistication of our Real Estate Practice,” said Joseph A. Damiano, Sax’s managing partner. “Eddie brings with him not only diversified industry experience that matches up well with our client base, but the individual characteristics that represent the core values of Sax. He will be a vital asset to the future of our firm.”
Rivera began his career in the real estate and construction practice of what was then known as Sax, Macy, Fromm, according to a news release. He has since served as the vice president of accounting and taxation at Kushner Cos., but most recently was a partner in the real estate group of a Top 25 accounting firm.
“It’s great to be back at Sax where my career began and flourished,” Rivera said. “The relationships I made during my original tenure along with all the expertise I gained made coming back an easy decision. I truly believe my clients will also receive a lot of value as part of this transition. I’m excited to begin this new journey at a great firm I’m so familiar with.”
Rivera is a Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, NAIOP and the Urban Land Institute. He holds a bachelor’s degree from William Paterson University and a master’s of science in taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
